Episode 05: Jenell B. Stewart on how to make time for yourself as a mother, wife and entrepreneur

JENELL B. STEWART ON HOW TO MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF AS A MOTHER, WIFE & ENTREPRENEUR

I believe in raising children that can be independent and be independent from a very young age, and if that makes me a selfish person, then honey, I am selfish.” – Jenell B. Stewart

Today’s episode is all about making time for yourself. Nory sat down with mother, wife, and entrepreneur, Jenell B. Stewart.

During our conversation we connected over waxing, Jenell shared why raising independent children is a form of self-care and I opened up about my decision to not have children. It was a fascinating conversation, and I hope you enjoy it.

Meet Jenell B. Stewart

If you’re a woman of the African diaspora and have big chopped, or cut all your processed hair off, you might be familiar with today’s guest. Jenell B Stewart is the founder and editor in chief of the award-winning website KinkyCurlyCoilyMe.com.

I was introduced to Jenell via her youtube channel, where she has taught millions of viewers how to care, style and nurture natural hair. At the time I had just cut off all my processed hair and was beginning the journey of being natural for the first time since I was 14.

A few years ago we got to finally connect in person through a mutual friend. And I’ve been following her wellness account on Instagram ever since, where she documents how she lost over 200 pounds.

Why Jenell

Jenell is truly an amazing woman; she has won People’s Choice Awards, been featured in Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise.com, and starred on the Dr.Oz television show as a Beauty Expert.

She’s a wife of 8 years and a mom to two adorable children who keep her extremely active with all of their many activities.

If you look up the word boss in the dictionary, I’m sure you’ll find Jenell’s captivating smile next to it.

Most recently Jenell has begun offering #momlife and career advice on her relatable podcast self-titled the Jenell B Stewart podcast and of course through her poppin’ social media channels.
