In today’s episode, I’m joined by Nekpen Osuan. She’s a Nigerian woman, seasoned analytics professional, entrepreneur and Adjunct Professor at New York University (NYU).
During this conversation, we discussed what is like to be a Nigerian woman who is vegetarian, why Nekpen believes people have more in common than they do different, and even how to get involved with the midterm elections.

Meet Nekpen Osuan
Nekpen is the co-founder of WomenWerk, a women’s empowerment non-profit building programs for women and girls in the tri-state area and she’s a Vice President for Business Development at Morgan Stanley.
Her most notable speaking engagements have led her to speak at The White House, The United States Military Academy at West Point, People for the American Way Foundation, Teach for America’s Alumni LEE Summit, Harvard University, The Wharton Business School, Columbia University, and Baylor University.
She serves on local leadership boards including the Junior Boards of Generation Citizen New York, Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, Generation Citizen, New Leaders Council and The College Initiative.
She is passionate about community organizing and has worked as an advisor to:
- The Mayor’s Office for Community Affairs in New York City,
- Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer,
- Formerly at the New York City Education Council of District 6.
